The Trees of knowledge shading the Twin Oaks Tavern

Located at 211 East Main Street the Twin Oaks Tavern, sitting under the historic Trees of Knowledge re-opened April 2014 under new ownership, the Tavern had been closed for about 90 days waiting licensing, etc… If you have never been to the Twin Oaks Tavern it is located in the old Humble Court House Building, and you’d never guess what the inside looks like just passing by.

They are open Mon-Sat 3.30p-2a, and on Sunday 12-9p (I do not know holiday hours)

It is a smoking establishment, so bring your cigars, pull up a chair, and enjoy yourself. (DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE)

On Monday’s – They have Karaoke
Wednesdays, they are starting open mic night.
Saturdays – live band 9p-1a – most of the time, a blues band.

The Trees of Knowledge

“THESE TWO TREES WERE GROWN FROM ACRONS, IN SLOP JARS, BY UNCLE DICK HATCHER, HE PLANTED THEM NOT LONG AFTER THE COURTHOUSE WAS BUILT IN 1928, THEY RECEIVED THEIR NAME FROM JUDGE WISE’S HABIT OF USING THE BENCHES BENEATH THE TREES TO SIT ON WHILE TEACHING MASONIC KNOWLEDGE TO NEW MEMBERS. LATER, LOCAL TOWNSMEN SAT ON THE BENCHES UNDER THE SHADE AND DISCUSSED CITY HAPPENINGS”

Dedicated by the City of Humble Preservation Committee in 1998
