McCord Development, Inc., sole owner and developer of Generation Park, announces the ground breaking of the urban concept Courtyard by Marriott hotel within the development’s lifestyle and entertainment center, Redemption Square. The hotel, developed by Hotel Development Services, is slated for completion in 2019 and will be the first hotel located in Redemption Square.
The five-story, 144-room hotel will feature over 2,000 square feet of meeting space, a business center, 24-hour market, large fitness center, outdoor pool, casual workspaces and a bistro featuring grab-and-go food options and Starbucks® Coffee. The property will also include expertly-appointed guest rooms including 24 rooms with balconies overlooking the plaza. With ground floor entry to the hotel’s bistro, fitness center and meeting spaces, the Courtyard by Marriott will be integrated into the pedestrian promenade of Redemption Square.
“The Courtyard by Marriott hotel at Generation Park will provide quality and convenient accommodations for businesses, families and visitors at Generation Park and the Lake Houston region,” said Ryan McCord, president of McCord Development. “We continue to bring amenities to our mixed-use district, Redemption Square, that will benefit both the business at Generation Park and the Lake Houston communities that surround it. “We have the ability to offer companies and their visiting employees and clients access to flexible office spaces, entertainment and dining options, and easily-accessible hotel rooms, all within Redemption Square’s pedestrian-friendly environment.”
The Courtyard by Marriott is the first hotel property in Texas and the largest in Hotel Development Services’ portfolio.
“We are proud to contribute to the expansion of Generation Park and the Lake Houston region,” said David Wespiser, managing member of Hotel Development Services, LLC. “With Generation Park’s ongoing development efforts, we are excited to soon offer Houstonians and visitors the convenience of a Courtyard by Marriott property in the quickly growing Lake Houston region.”
The one-acre site was purchased by Hotel Development Services, who will partner with American Hospitality Management to oversee the day-to-day construction and management of the property.
