LINE THE STREETS AT 6:00 P.M. on May 18, 2017!
Bring a lawn chair, posters, and American Flags to wave as our Wounded Warriors are escorted by local law enforcement from Bush Intercontinental Airport down Will Clayton Parkway eastbound passing slowly through Humble, Atascocita, and Eagle Springs until turning right on West Lake Houston Parkway. The motorcade will then proceed southbound on West Lake Houston Parkway, by the Groves, Waters Edge, and through Summerwood until turning right on the westbound feeder of the Sam Houston Parkway traveling one block before arriving at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints located at 14350 North Sam Houston Parkway North at Summer Palmetto Drive.
Let’s get together and show the approximately 200+ Wounded Warriors and their medical staff our Texas Sized Hospitality!
These heroes need time away from hospitals, therapy and the constant reminders of what they lost. Most of them have never received a “welcome home” as they went from the battlefield to the hospital to home, so this is an opportunity for the community to show their support, and welcome our brave men home.
Warriorsweekend.org is the charity bringing these warriors into Houston from military hospitals across the US
There will be a dinner for the soldiers at the Church of Jesus Christ LDS located at 14350 N. Sam Houston Parkway East (near the intersection of West Lake Hou Pkwy and the Beltway. The community is invited to come out along the procession path and at the church.
The time of the procession will be between 545pm to 630pm… Several years ago we gave them a BIG Texas welcome shown in the video below. The wounded men and women loved the welcome they received as they traveled through Humble, Atascocita, Eagle Springs, Walden and Summerwood.
